Appointments/Expertise
All appointments are scheduled based on availability. We recommend scheduling well visits at least 2-4 weeks in advance to ensure your desired time. All well visits are done in the office.
Aside from in-office appointments, we also provide options for telemedicine for following:
-
Sick visits: we recommend calling/Vsee us as early in a day as possible so your child can be seen the same day if necessary
-
Counseling visit (development and behavior)
-
Travel medicine visit (no yellow fever vaccine)
-
Prenatal visits
-
Anticipatory guidance

To schedule an appointment please dial the office at 718–237–2122, or email us at brooklynpeds@msn.com

Appointments for sick visits should be scheduled as soon as symptoms arise and early during the day to ensure same day appointment. Remember sick children should not be sent to schools/daycare.
Unlike urgent care we do not take walk-ins to avoid unwanted exposure to contagious diseases.

Meet the Doctor
Transferring families are welcome to meet the doctor before you decide if you become our patient. We will cater the meeting based to your needs and the needs of your child/children.
For optimal care, we ask for your child's previous medical records, including immunizations and laboratory results at a minimum. The more information you provide—such as growth charts, medication history, and reports from evaluations and specialists— the better!

Prenatals
During your prenatal visit, you will meet with Dr. Jana Dehovitz to discuss what to expect during the newborn period and early infancy. She will answer your questions and offer guidance on feeding, sleep, scheduling the first visits, and choosing a pediatrician. Expecting parents, adoptive families, and those using surrogacy are all welcome.
Integrated Health Coordination
If your child sees multiple specialists or has complex medical needs, Dr. Jana Dehovitz can help coordinate care across providers. This includes reviewing records, helping families understand treatment plans, and ensuring communication among care teams to support your child’s overall health.
College Health Counseling
Dr. Dehovitz provides guidance for adolescents preparing for college, including meeting school immunization and health form requirements, planning for medical care away from home, and addressing health concerns such as mental well-being, medication management, and reproductive health. Visits are recommended 2–3 months before the semester begins.
Transitioning to Adult Care Counseling
As teens approach adulthood, Dr. Dehovitz helps families prepare for the shift to adult medical care. These visits focus on building health independence, reviewing key topics like sexual health, chronic condition management, and insurance changes, and ensuring a smooth handoff to adult providers.
Travel Counseling
Planning international travel with a child? Dr. Dehovitz offers individualized counseling and vaccinations based on your destination and your child’s health history. She can advise on travel medications, safety tips, and how to manage chronic conditions while abroad.
Health Benefits Counseling
Understanding health insurance options can be challenging. Dr. Dehovitz can help guide families through choosing and using insurance plans effectively—including understanding covered services, navigating prior authorizations, and maximizing preventive care benefits.
